About

Hi there! I’m Edward and I’m a hobby hiker, mountain climber, and photographer living in beautiful Seattle, Washington.

I wasn’t a particularly outdoorsy kid growing up in suburban Massachusetts, but occasional family trips to national parks or the White Mountains were enough to ingrain an appreciation for nature and a desire to see more. After moving out to Seattle in 2019, I went hiking nearly every weekend, starting with Mount Si the day after I arrived. A couple summers went by and I’d exhausted many of the well-known dayhikes in the area, so I began to expand my backcountry skillset to go deeper and higher into the mountains.

As my trips rewarded me with better and better views, I grew unsatisfied with my low-resolution, AI-edited cell phone photos. I invested in a “real” camera and learned the basics of landscape photography to try to do justice to the real beauty of what I was seeing.

While I’ve come some ways since Mount Si, I’m still a newbie in the scheme of things, and I hope that I’m only at the beginning of a long journey! The main purpose of this site is to journal about interesting hikes, climbs, and photos along the way and to share them with anyone who’s interested. Hope you enjoy!
